White Flowers

Frog and Toad in front of White Flowers.
Next year I will keep the tags so I'll know what my flowers are.

You 'real' gardeners probably already know what they are!

Frog and Toad playing in a pot of Petunias (know that one!).

White Birds in my garden.

Pretty Periwinkle.

Yes, Frog and Toad do get around in my Garden.  I let them have the run of the place!

I am showing my White Flowers and trailing along with Tootsie, come along!

Fairy Rose on my Arbor

Fairy Rose as seen from my back window.
It is going into full bloom and it's lovely.
View from the yard.
Notice  the rose on the right side  is bushier.  That's because the Fairy Rose bush on the right is NOT a climber.  The Fairy Rose bush on the left is a climber.  And I need to attach some of the branches so it will grow upright.  It grows so fast.
The branches are coming off the main canes and are blooming profusely.
It grows with wild abandon so I am going to see if it evens out with time.  I mean it is only May!
Frog and Toad like the Fairy Rose.  They hide in it.
I cut them all the time.  There are so many flowers all summer that you hardly notice they're gone.  And they last forever in a vase!
Fairy Roses in an old Vase
This picture was taken last year in the cool of winter.  The flowers are darker when it's cool and the fade with the heat and sun.
I am being stern about keeping them trimmed at the bottom.  The thorns are so many that you can not weed  around the canes.  And  they make runners!  You should never have to buy this rose.  Just find someone who owns one.  It could be called The Rose Weed.

I love this rose.
I love the name.  I guess the Fairies are safe in this rose because of the thorns!

New Dawn Climbing Rose

Every time I saw a picture in a book of amazing pink climbing roses, it was the New Dawn.
I had to have one!
It is in my back yard and I am training it to run along my little garden fence.
I think this is the  fourth year since planting.  The first year I almost dug it up and threw it away.  Lots of long thorny (huge nasty thorns) canes but no flowers.

I can see it from my windows.  The windows face west.  I think they get more sun on the outside of the fence because along the fence they are prettiest on the outside.
The next two years the same thing but with a few flowers that rarely opened nicely.  The thrips were merciless.
This year I sprayed before buds and gave it a systemic dousing too.
Hate chemicals but I was determined to have pretty roses!
And this is the best year they have had and they are beautiful.
I'm glad I stuck with them.

Last is a picture of Frog and Toad in the Verbena.  See them?
This is my post for Flaunt your Flowers Friday .  See Tootsie for more pretty blogs.
I will try to remember to fertilize too!
