Maggie Rose in August

My Maggie Rose, beautiful as always.

August in Louisiana is not easy on Roses.
But I always have something lovely in bloom.

Such beauty, don't you agree?

Maggie The Rose in my Front Garden!

Isn't she Beautiful??   Maggie.

Did any of you pick up on the title "Maggie The Rose"?  I always think of the old move Cat on A Hot Tin Roof with Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor.  Elizabeth Taylor is Maggie The Cat.

Most of you are just looking confused!

I put up a trellis so Maggie can be  a Pillar Rose.

I have a Maggie Rose in the Back Garden and I loved her so much I wanted one in my Front Garden too.  She loves it out here in the sun.

Maggie Rose has a slight sweet  smell too, which I love.

Very Old Fashioned looking but so hardy.

She lives in the left corner behind the Lantana.

This is what my Front Garden looked like a little more than a month ago.

You have to be fast to not miss something in your garden!

I Love My Maggie Rose!

Isn't Maggie splended?
It is blooming again wonderfully.
This is where my Maggie Rose lives.
The Verbena has reseeded from last year and is growing wild!
I love Verbena too.  Very old fashioned!
Compare from my last post about Maggie!

My Maggie Rose

Maggie has been planted here for maybe 4 years.
If I had a favorite Rose, it might be Maggie.  She seems to always have at least one rose blooming.  A description from The Antique Rose Emporium " Collected by Dr. William C. Welch in Louisiana, "Maggie" has very full flowers that are large, of rich carmine rose that can darken to crimson in cool weather. They are freely produced on a vigorous, healthy bush that makes a nice hedge, specimen plant or even pillar rose. The true "rose" scent is even headier when the flowers are carried indoors."
The pretty color  shows up from a distance.
The rose shape is kind of old fashioned and smells good.  I love the color.
It is beginning to seem like every plant I bring home is the same color!
The verbena came back from last year even better than before!
Frog and Toad like to play in the roses!
I like this rose so much I bought another one.
I planted this one in the front. Not sure yet how it will like this spot!
