Breakfast In My Garden

My Sister was here for a visit recently.

We had breakfast in myGarden.

Everything is  best of all when your sitting in a Garden!

Especially in good company.

Poor Abe!

Abraham Darby from David Austin.

This is one of the most beautiful Roses.

And part of the Beauty is the Smell. 

 So wonderful and always seems to find your nose!

Abe seems to have be having a difficult time in my garden this year.  More so than my other Roses.  More Black Spot, failure to thrive, etc.  I need to consider my part in this.  He lives at far corner and perhaps I don't water him as much?  Will need to give him a little extra TLC.

But always at least one bloom here and there make it all worth while to me.

Periwinkle in the Summer

The Mealy Bugs don't seem to like my Periwinkle.  

Thank goodness!

Temps here have been in the high 90's!

Poor Verbena!

This is my Verbena in it's former glory!!

But this is a sad tale of woe.

Called Mealy Bugs!

And I can't get rid of them!!  

Black Eyed Susans

Such a happy flower!

I often pick them to sit on my kitchen table.  

They make me smile!

Maggie Rose in August

My Maggie Rose, beautiful as always.

August in Louisiana is not easy on Roses. 

 But I always have something lovely in bloom.

Such beauty, don't you agree?

You should smell them!

This vase has become my new favorite!  

Salvaged from an old antique shop. 

It is quite tall and I had to toss aside my determination to never cut a Rose that had buds near it.  I have let my Heritage Rose bush grow high so I can use this  pretty old vase.
