Old Blush

April 2010
It is planted against a brick wall facing south.  However, it is shaded in the afternoon.  I wouldn't say the drainage is great where it is but it's happy!

This picture was when it first began blooming this year the first of March.
This is before I pruned the lower part of it.

An Old Garden Climbing Rose
I planted this Rose 3 years ago.  It blooms almost all the time and is pretty problem free.  It had scale 2 years ago, I think because it was so overgrown that the canes did not get any circulation.  But i really have no idea about scale.  Other than scale, I never spray or treat it for anything.  I do fertilize it.

The individual Rose scent is mild but sweet and when you walk by the bush, it smells wonderful.

  1. Dear Jeannie-Thank you so much for the kind comment on my blog. My garden has 18 years of me working and changing it. That's why it looks advanced. But, your garden looks lovely. Great roses. And I am so impressed by your designing abilities. I have the hardest time sewing a straight line. God gives to all gifts. I love roses and the romantic feel of your blog.
